Carmel Valley Estate Outpaces National Wine Trends With Strong Velocity and Category Gains
CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (December XX, 2025) — Bernardus Winery is proud to report exceptional national performance, significantly outperforming key U.S. wine category trends in the latest Nielsen XAOC 52-week period ending October 4, 2025. Total U.S. sales reached 19% increase in volume representing a 15.6% increase in dollar sales year-over-year.
Growth was driven by the winery’s core varietals: Griva Sauvignon Blanc (SRP $20), Monterey County Chardonnay (SRP $25), and Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (SRP $27), all achieving double-digit gains and outperforming competitors nationally across all measured periods.
This positive momentum is reinforced by recent critical acclaim, including 92 points from the International Wine Report for the 2023 Bernardus Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, Double Gold/Class Champion honors at Texas Rodeo Uncorked!, and additional praise from JamesSuckling.com. Together, these accolades highlight Bernardus’ continued commitment to crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines with exceptional balance and quality.
“Bernardus has always been committed to crafting wines of place; expressive, balanced, and unmistakably reflective of Monterey County and the Santa Lucia Highlands. We are firmly in growth mode, and the alignment of our strong DTC and sales teams with our SGWS distributor continues to capture market share across the U.S.,” said Bruce Smitham, VP of U.S. Sales. “These latest performance gains affirm what we strive for every day: delivering exceptional quality to our customers and elevating our coastal terroir. We’re thrilled to see that this commitment continues to resonate nationwide.”
