FROM THE WIRES...
Try this unusual expression of the grape if you have not had a 'dry Furmint'. Furmint is the grape and most famous in an ultra-sweet nectar of the Gods named Tokaji. It turns out to express a rich, crisp character, not unlike Pinot Gris from Alsace when vinified dry.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Region: Tokaj
Annual Production: 50.000 bottles
Winemaker: Gabor Urbán
ALC: 14%
COLOR: nice bright yellow hinting pure freshness
NOSE: a brilliant flowery bouquet of fresh lemon, lime, gooseberry, white peach, hints of linden flower, yet also exotics in harmony, maybe a bit of grapefruit and a touch of vanilla – smelling gets you in a lively mood, exciting new flavor profile starting with the nose – cannot stop sniffing ...in any case, it is new aroma profile to the world – Furmint in its best form – harmonious and complex ... which is also enduring on the palate and thereafter.
TASTING NOTE by Lenz Moser:
“Young new flavors dominating, nutty-zippy lemon/lime with a cornucopia of fruit flavors – in harmony with the balance of elegance, real freshness, and complexity. Fascinating mouthfeel from the beginning to the long end – definitely asking for the next sip – what we particularly love is the evenly spread strong impact on the palate. Furmint shows beautifully with its delicate aromas, this is new to the wine world – super clean and long fresh, zippy finish. I love dry Furmint also because of its distinguishing characteristics: the high concentration of flavor and aromas – this is almost Riesling-Esque, however completely different. Noteworthy also the minerality – especially the MAD appellations with its terroir of all types of volcanic rocks and clay minerals of the South-Zemplén Mountains primarily zeolite shows with a raciness and a bit of saltiness, pleasantly enhancing the next sip.”
