Beringer Vineyards Celebrates its 150th Anniversary with Calendar of Festivities
St. Helena, CA—February 25, 2026—Beringer Vineyards, California’s longest continuously operating winery, marks its 150th year with a calendar of immersive experiences, seasonal festivities, and participation in marquee wine events across the country.
Founded in 1876 by brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer, the St. Helena, CA, estate pioneered gravity fed winemaking, was among the early Napa Valley producers to craft wines in caves dug into the hillside, and in 1934 became the first local winery to open for public tours, helping set the standard for modern Napa Valley hospitality.
“From the earliest days of the winery to today, each generation has built upon the vision of those who came before,” said Margo Van Staaveren, Director of Winemaking at Beringer Vineyards. “Our focus remains on crafting wines that honor our long-established sites while evolving with intention, innovation, and a deep sense of place that comes from calling this estate home for 150 years.”
This milestone follows a year of global recognition for Beringer. In 2025, the winery was named among the World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025: the 51-100 list, received a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award recognizing the Top 10% of Things to Do Worldwide, won Best Wine Tour in the Best of Napa County Awards, and earned placement on James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of the USA.
The winery’s anniversary coincides with the 150th anniversary of the City of St. Helena, where Beringer was recently named Business of the Year.
“Our 150th anniversary is an open invitation to experience Beringer in new ways,” said Claire Wilkins, Director of Hospitality at Beringer Vineyards. “We’re proud to share this momentous occasion with all our guests this year, including several cornerstone events, with additional experiential offerings yet to be announced. This is a can’t miss milestone and we are so excited to welcome visitors to celebrate with us.”
