October 29-31 Prix Fixe Menu with Texas Quail, San Danielle Prosciutto, Braised Gulf Shrimp, Barberries, Pomegranates, Vanilla Ice Cream with Dried Mulberries , Georgian Wine and more

WHO: Chef Gorji is focused on Mediterranean staples and Persian delights in October with 100 percent grass-fed wild game and fresh, sustainable seafood infused with fruit and wine reductions, grass-fed, free range, hormone, preservative and antibiotic free proteins, and always simple, balanced preparation . North Texans, meat, seafood, and Latin wine lovers seeking an intimate, chef-driven, prix fixe, multi-course, fine dining experience highlighting summer’s best chilled dishes and fresh ingredients from global cuisine sources.

WHAT: Gorji Restaurant, (pronounced “Gore-Gee”) led by nationally recognized Chef Gorji, unveils a new seasonal menu each week that celebrates the bounty of the season. Gorji brings his culinary traditions and ingredients from his Persian upbringing and mixes them with European influences this month. It is Mediterranean berry season so expect barberries, mulberries, strawberries, and pomegranates to be at their best.

"When we were children in Iran, we would climb huge Mulberry trees like monkeys and then fall off and sometimes break something, now it is good, we can just go and buy dried black mulberries," said Chef Gorji. "Barberries are one of Iran's national dishes I loved from childhood that we put with rice and chicken. Here, they are sourced from bushes on the East Coast," added Chef Gorji.

For the week of October 29-31, the menu highlights are for appetizer course Braised Texas Gulf Shrimp, and Texas Quail with Pomegranate and Greens. As always: Farm-Raised, Sustainable Pan Fried Catfish Greens and Remoulade. A Salad course with choice of San Danielle Prosciutto with Iceberg Lettuce with Roquefort Yogurt Dressing and Grilled Jalapeno and Panzanella Salad with Campari Tomatoes. As Always: Kale & Romaine Caesar Made Traditionally with Fresh Egg Yolk and Marinated White Spanish Anchovies.

Choice of entree served with grilled vegetables includes Pan-Seared Pekin Duck Breast ; and Butter Seared Icelandic Cod with Chablis, Green Peas, Sour Grape Juice, Barberries and Pasta, and 3 Cheese Spinach Lasagna with choice of award-winning Gorji Housemade Sauces-either Pomodoro or Arrabiata.

Additionally, the dish always on the menu is the signature Prime 6 Ounce Beef Tenderloin and Gnocchi Gorgonzola.

Finish with choice of dessert from Vanilla Ice Cream, Dried Mulberries, Pistachios, Dried Rose Petals and Drizzled with Georgian (the country) Wine, Flourless Chocolate Cake House-made Kefir Cheese, Jordan Valley Medjool Date and Pomegranate Reduction with Sesame Seed Wafers. Chef Gorji said, "I prefer to use dried rose petals which give the same effect as rosewater in our mulberry dessert this week but in a more subtle manner."
