WINE REVIEW: Trapiche 2019 ‘Gran Medalla’, Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina ($33)
by Andrew Chalk
Appearance: Opaque and inky blueberry and ruby.
Nose: Blueberries, lavender, white pepper, herbaceousness of scallions and basil;
Palate: Assertive tannic grip. Vibrant acid. Blueberry and black cherry flavors on the tongue that evaporate throughout the mouth. Rosemary herbal notes.
