WINE REVIEW: Sosie 2017 Roussanne, Vivio Vineyard, Bennett Valley, Sonoma County, CA ($38)

by Andrew Chalk

Again, Sosie has come up with a winner Rhône variety wine. Congratulations to owners/winemakers Scott MacFiggen and Regina Bustamante. As always, quantities are tiny. A scant 9 barrels of this glorious Roussanne.

Enjoyable on its own but to appreciate it at its best serve with white-fleshed fish prepared with a sauce (e.g. cream sauce, chive, butter sauce, or parsley sauce)

Appearance: Slight gold tinge;

Nose: Earthy, minerality, bread crust, white peach;

Palate: Medium acid. Heavy mouthfeel, honey, peach.

Sample.
