by Andrew Chalk
Appearance: Deep ruby with opaque core and translucent rim.
Nose: French oak, blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, thyme.
Palate: Blackberry, chewy tannins, hard herbs and medium-plus acid. Fruit needs time to evolve as this wine is quite closed-in.
Serve with red meat or, lay down for five years to give it a chance to evolve.
