WINE REVIEW: Harken 2018 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, CA ($12)

by Andrew Chalk

A bargain in lush New World style chardonnay. Varietally correct and quite showy, given its price.

The nose has soft cream soda and vanilla notes. The taste is lemon citrus fruit, mango, oak with a touch of residual sweetness.

Not a Grand Cru Burgundy to be sure, but as a party chardonnay this wine will not embarrass the host.

Sample.
