WINE REVIEW: Gary Farrell 2019 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, CA ($37)

Fine example of Russian River chardonnay. Nose of cantaloupe, lemon, green apple, and a touch of oak. Flavors of grapefruit, lemon, dominant phenolic backbone, long drawn out finish.

Good quaffing wine. You sort of don't want to interfere with its purity of expression. But if you do prefer your chardonnay with food, then turkey, pork, chicken or pasta with cream sauces would work a champ.

Sample.
