WINE REVIEW: Charles Krug 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA ($33)

This wine is from the C.K. Mondavi family, who established the first winery in Napa Valley. It is mainly made from grapes grown in five family vineyards from a blend of 87% cabernet sauvignon, 5% merlot, 5% petit verdot, 3% petite sirah.


Appearance: Opaque ruby;


Nose: Raspberry, toffee;


Palate: Grippy tannins, sweet tannins, oak;


Serve with fatty steak (e.g. ribeye, brisket).
