You can anticipate that this is a great wine because it has the word ‘Chalk’ in the name (strong choice!). However, it also matters that the grapes come from one of the best regions for chardonnay in the USA (the Sonoma Coast sub-AVA of Sonoma County) and that Chalk Hill practices purposeful, precise winemaking.
A classic nose of cream soda, citrus, and vanilla leads to a palate that presents its lemon, vanilla, and phenolic backbone in moderated balance. Medium-plus acidity keeps the palate sensation alive.
Sample.
