WINE REVIEW: Cambria Estate Winery, 2018 Julia’s Vineyard, Pinot Noir, Santa Maria Valley, CA ($22)

by Andrew Chalk

Cambria Estate Winery is a family-owned winery run by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke’s daughters Katie and Julia. They exploit the calcareous soils and fog-swept hills to produce bright, rich, opulent, but still taught, chardonnay.

Appearance: Translucent ruby;

Nose: Savory tomato leaf. Black pepper. raspberry.

Palate:Medium-plus acid, Heavy mouthfeel. Ripe raspberries. Open fruit. This wine is forthcoming structurally.
