WINE REVIEW: Bonterra 2019 Chardonnay, California ($15)

andychalk

by Andrew Chalk

Bonterra is best known for two things: A commitment to use 100% organic grapes, and good value. This Chardonnay is no exception representing one of the best $15 examples on the market.

It is lively enough to be a summer quaffing wine or would pair well with roast chicken.

Appearance: Light gold;

Nose: Cream soda, almonds, yellow apples, lemon, peach stones;

Palate: Vibrant acid. Intense peachy flavors explode in the mouth. Honey. Lemon. Subtle phenolic backbone.
