WINE REVIEW: 2015 Stags' Leap Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA ($46)

Ruby color with medium intensity. In the nose raspberry, blackberry, and cassis underlaid with cedar and notes of forest floor. In the mouth hints of pyrazines (greenness), briary flavors.

Given the rarefied heights reached by Napa wine prices this is a good and reasonably-priced Stags' Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. Could be kept for up to a decade or may be drunk now if you are tolerant of punchy tannins. Best with red meat dishes. Recommended.

Sample.
