Production: Grown from ‘Old Vines’ (1970s) in a vineyard that sits on a bench at altitudes from 400-800 feet overlooking the Santa Maria Valley.
Appearance: Medium ruby.
Nose: Ripe cherries, plums.
Palate: Very soft. A comfort wine in terms of its ease of quaffing. Very food-friendly with pork, smoked meats, game birds and veal.
Overall: A very likable wine that explains why Pinot Noir is so instantly popular. Drink now.
