TEXAS WINE: THE NEW GUYS: TEXAS HERITAGE VINEYARD

by Andrew Chalk

Despite the problems we have with COVID, dicoma, drought, etc. the number of wineries in Texas continues to grow. As a bonus, the modus operandi of these new wineries is almost always: 100% Texas grapes, 100% easy customer accessibility, and 100% transparency.

One of those is Texas Heritage Vineyard. Recently, owner Susan Johnson and winemaker Tyler Buddemeyer held a media tasting of their Spring releases

· 2021 Estate Lizzie Rose

· 2018 Reserve Barbera

· 2019 Old 300, Estate Red Blend

The wines showed that the pattern of winning medals is likely to continue. The Old 300, in particular, is a very complex wine.

Samples.
