Prestige Wine Imports Introduces New Rosé to Rapidly Growing Portfolio, Delisa by Mezzacorona

by Andrew Chalk

Author Note: I visited Mezzacorona in Trento before the pandemic as part of a media delegation financed by the Trento wine consortium. They make a full range of wines from supermarket mass-sale lines through to collector's favorites.

I tasted a sample of this wine recently and can attest to its fine balance, easy drinkability, and lively aromatics and taste. Ideal for summer. Good value.

FROM THE WIRES...

Delisa by Mezzacorona, a delicious and delicate rosé wine, will be available nationwide just in time for summer

NEW YORK (April 5, 2022) – Delisa by Mezzacorona – the newest addition to the brand’s portfolio – today announced the release of the new wine. The brand, crafted by leading Italian wine producer, Mezzacorona, reveals a fresh and delicate aromatic profile, characterized by aromas of red fruits and citrus fruits like pink grapefruit mixed with intricate floral notes. The palate bursts with freshness with a lively and refreshing acidity.

“Gruppo Mezzacorona is happy to enter the continuously booming rosé category with its new Delisa – a Pinot Grigio Rosé Vigneti delle Dolomiti,” says Barbara Darra, Global Marketing Manager for Gruppo Mezzacorona. “Delisa is a rosé wine born in our Northeastern Italy estate. It is a place where rose bushes and alpine flora adorn our vineyards. The delightful and graceful identity was developed to evoke these mountain gardens.”

Delisa is a selection of Pinot Grigio vineyards located at the foothills of the Adige Valley where the rich soil, comprised of silt and dolomitic rock, provides an excellent aromatic ripening of the grapes and allows for an optimal level of acidity and freshness.

“The color of Delisa is the real color that Pinot Grigio, by its very nature, expresses. The color of its berries, halfway between white and black, reveals the ductility of the grape to create wines with many different shades of color,” says Maurizio Maurizi, Winemaker for Mezzacorona. “It is precisely in the pink version that the first users of this grape vinified the Pinot Grigio. With Delisa, we re-established its oldest version, by giving a floral aromatic impulse and a fresh and vertical mouth, which reveals its most brilliant and lively soul in the glass. Mezzacorona has always aimed to seek the maximum expression of Pinot Grigio, and with Delisa, we wanted to show another face of this incomparable grape, less known but no less authentic.”

Delisa by Mezzacorona wines will be available at wine retailers nationwide. All Mezzacorona’s wines are sustainably farmed, hand-harvested, and estate-bottled. Delisa is imported by Prestige Wine Imports and will be available nationwide with a suggested retail price of $12.99. For more information, please visit https://www.mezzacorona.it/en-us.
