Jim and Ranae Mills own Rustic Spur Vineyards near Fredericksburg, but their three dogs run the show. Annie and Pirate are Border Collies and Tannin is a Border Collie Mix.
Tannin is as much of a worker as the other two. He keeps the vineyards free of rabbits. But he almost wasn’t to be. Jim saw him for sale at an adoption event in 2015 in San Antonio, the last member of a litter. He sent pictures to his daughter and they ganged up to get a reluctant Ranae to let them adopt him. Tannin is grateful they did!
