Murrieta’s Well’s Fall Releases – The Perfect Wines for Holiday Dinner

The boutique Livermore Valley wine estate is defined by its unique grape varietal plantings (think Touriga National, Tempranillo, Orange Muscat and its flagship Merlot focus), its stunning location, and a rich heritage. Family-owned and run by fifth generation female winegrower Jordan Wente, it remains one of California’s original wine estates, with the property growing grapes since 1884.

· For holidays like Thanksgiving, it’s important to have wines that pair well with a variety of food. Murrieta’s Well’s Merlot complements a wide range of dishes, making it an ideal choice for your holiday table. The Merlot delivers expressive, ripe red fruit aromas of black cherry and plum with hints of violet, vanilla, and mocha. (SRP: $60)

· Murrieta’s Well’s Zarzuela translates to “Spanish stew” and is named symbolically to harken the idea of people coming together – perfect for Thanksgiving. Zarzuela is an excellent gift for hosts and a great dinner table conversation starter. The small lot Spanish-influenced red blend of Touriga National, Tempranillo and Souzao has wonderful fruit and spice expressions of clove, pomegranate, and blackberry. (SRP: $75)

· With its western imagery and name, The Spur is the perfect American-themed Thanksgiving wine crafted from blending the classic Bordeaux red varieties with Petite Sirah, offering a distinctively California expression. The Spur displays aromas and flavors of blackberry and blueberry with hints of chocolate, anise, graham crackers and toasted oak. (SRP: $40)

Set in the heart of the Livermore Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA), as well as the greater San Francisco Bay AVA, Murrieta’s Well is located just 35 miles east of San Francisco. The winery draws from its 500 acres of sustainably farmed estate vineyards for its sophisticated selection of small lot and blended wines.
