Gehricke Wines Announces Debut Release of Sonoma Mountain Sauvignon Blanc

FROM THE WIRES...

Innovative Négociant Representing Terroir-Driven Wines Announces Line Extension for its Flagship Sonoma Winery

SONOMA, Calif. (June 7, 2022)Gehricke Wines is pleased to announce the debut of the Sonoma-based winery’s first Sauvignon Blanc, the 2021 Sonoma Mountain Sauvignon Blanc. This debut marks a significant expansion for the Sonoma-based portfolio through its series of small production wines.

From fourth-generation vintner August Sebastiani, Gehricke is known for its tier of appellation-driven wines sold through wholesale channels. Gehricke remains the flagship wine label in Sebastiani’s 3 Badge Beverage Corporation portfolio.

“I am especially excited to introduce this Sauvignon Blanc to the Gehricke portfolio,” said Sebastiani. “Sauvignon Blanc has always been one of my favorite varieties, and I can’t think of a better vineyard for it to come from than the slopes of Sonoma Mountain. Our Gehricke wines have enjoyed steady growth since its debut in 2014, and this 2021 Sauvignon Blanc is a testament to that success.”

The new 2021 Sonoma Mountain Sauvignon Blanc (SRP $29) is now available for purchase at gehrickewines.com. With a limited production of just 162 cases, the wine will initially be available in limited markets including: CA, NY, IL, GA, OK and AR.

The new Gehricke Sonoma Mountain Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and lively, with aromas

of spring flowers and fresh chamomile intermixed with fresh cut melon and zesty citrus, making it the perfect summer sipper. On the palate, refreshing honeydew and Meyer lemon are underscored with nuances of mineral undertones. A burst of acidity leads to an invigorating finish that makes it perfect for pairing with wild arugula and goat cheese salad, fish tacos, or oysters.

Gehricke is a tribute to the dusty roads and forgotten vineyards of Sonoma that Sebastiani explored in his youth, many owned by old friends and family. Gehricke’s winemaker, Alex Beloz, has worked with high-quality Sonoma County grapes for nearly two decades. The label design was inspired by the scrawled winemaker notes typically not seen outside the cellar.

Produced and distributed by Sebastiani’s 3 Badge Beverage Corporation, Gehricke’s core appellation series of wines include Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Zinfandel, Los Carneros Rosé, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Sonoma Valley Petite Sirah. All wines are available nationally. For more information about Gehricke Wines or to purchase, please visit gehrickewines.com.
