Italian, but largely German speaking, the northeastern Italian region of Trentino Alto Adige makes a lot of different styles of wine. Given the proximity to the Dolomites and high altitude, acidic whites predominate.
This example is a great choice to pair with seafood, poultry, or cream-sauced pasta. In fact, I think you will appreciate it more with food. As a quaffing wine it will seem to lack fruit, but that not the name of the game here. Stick that fillet of cod in the pan!
