BJ’s Restaurants and Brewhouses, the national chain that brews over a dozen different beers each year, including specials at individual locations, is holding regular beer tastings this year. This week I attended the latest one  at their popular Addison location as a media guest.

BJ's Deep Dish Pizza came as an individual pizza for each attendee. Loaded with ingredients and enough for two!

The focus was on their newest seasonal beer,  Grass Attack® Cold IPA, an IPA to celebrate the World Cup, and also included their perennial favorites like top-selling Jeremiah Red, an Irish Red made with five imported specialty malts and given a formidable ABV (alcohol-by-volume) of 7.3%. The event drew people all the way from Fort Worth.

BJ’s General Manager Eric Peterson, took attendees through each beer and the matched food.

BJ’s Signature Taps Beer Dinner

  • BJ's LightSwitch® Lager – Welcome Beer

  • BJ's Prickly Pear Hard Lemonade with our Crispy Calamari

  • BJ's HopStorm® IPA with our Santa Fe Salad

  • BJ's Grass Attack® Cold IPA with our BJ's Favorite Deep Dish Pizza

  • BJ's Piranha® Pale Ale – Palate Cleanser

  • BJ's Jeremiah Red® with our EnLIGHTened Cherry Chipotle Glazed Salmon

  • BJ's Tatonka® Stout with our NEW Limited-Time Only Stars & Stripes Pizookie®

The highlight of the food, for me, was the EnLIGHTened Cherry Chipotle Glazed Salmon. Succulent and tasty.

One thing to note. The next beer dinner is themed German-Style Beers and is on September 14th at participating locations (including Addison) at 6:30pm ($45). Call the restaurant
