WINE REVIEW: Mascota Vineyards, 2017 Unánime Malbec, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina ($20)

Sipping this wine, or feeling the heft of its bottle, leaves you expecting the price to be double what it is. Bold, harmonious, complex, and vibrant it is also a bargain. The only regret I have at having drunk my sample bottle is that I cannot sample it in ten years time to see how it aged. Maybe buy two bottles. One for now. One for the cellar.

Expect to hear more from this brand, and its winemaker, Rodolfo Opi Sadler who cut his teeth on Cabernet Sauvignon wines that score in the mid 90s (out of 100). This wine has already had one review, by James Suckling, who gave it 94/100.

Sample.
