Grand Lux Cafe is not just a reproduction of a Belle Époch Parisian, Viennese, or Belgian Café, it is also a lively and popular spot in Dallas for families and groups of all sizes to enjoy fine food and drink from a huge and varied menu. Tonight, while I was there as part of a media event, there was, in one of the other groups, a wedding party! Bride in whites, groom in tuxedo, orchids, everything!
One reason for the popularity of Grand Lux Cafe is that although the historical architecture remains a piece, the menu is regularly updated. We went to try the new additions (liquid and solid!) and all passed the deliciousness test!
Good French bread has a crust that should lacerate the mouth, leaving you with rivers of blood streaming out of the mouth. This bread passed the test.
On e other new addition if you go for brunch: BLT Benedict: Poached Eggs with Crisp Bacon, Avocado, Grilled Tomato and Arugula covered with Calabrian Hollandaise on a Grilled English Muffin. And for steak lovers, a French classic. Steak Frites:Wood-Grilled Butchers’ Steak with Red Wine Sauce and Garlic-Herb Butter and Served with Parmesan Fries.
