Overlook the failings in the education system that cause Sosie, a label resplendent with magnificent bears, to slip to the other spelling in the vanity name on the bottle, and just enjoy this great méthode traditionelle wine. That's the Champagne method, but Sonoma grapes.
The winemaker’s tasting notes are “Sparkling wine has the unique ability to convey its own effervescence to those who enjoy it, and this 2019 Sosie Sparkling Rosé conveys an abundance of fruit aromas, like zestful blood orange, white peach, and Pink Lady apples. The palate incites creamy strawberry, watermelon, and the bright tang of ripe tangerine, followed by a delightful trace of Marcona almond”.
I would add: a backbone of pencil lead and cream soda flavors in the mouth.
It’s a helluva’ wine. If you are wondering what Champagne to buy to celebrate a special occasion, consider going bare. You might like it.
Sample.
