Despite it's prosaic name, this wine is actually 100% pinot noir. It is a copper hue. Aromas of melons, white flowers, orange rind and wet stone. In the mouth it is lively, has strawberry fruit and citrus.
The Santa Margarita Ranch is at the southern tip of Paso Robles in the Santa Margarita Ranch AVA. It is one of the coolest parts of Paso Robles.
The fruit was whole cluster pressed, subject to long cold soaks, fermented in stainless steel and aged for five months in stainless steel.
