WINE REVIEW: 2017 Grandes Vinos ‘Beso de Vino’ Garnacha (Old Vines), Cariñena, Spain ($4)

Just fancy that. A serviceable medium-bodied red wine for less than five dollars. This ruby-colored wine has a light but not unpleasant nose of strawberries and pepper. A fruity, enveloping mouthfeel. Varietally correct flavors. Soft tannins with a recognizable backbone. And even an earthy finish peeking out. Clearly a bargain. Ideal for parties or barbecue roasts -- get the pork ribs out!
