The King Shall Offer Hors d'Oeuvres during The Golden Hour

by Andrew Chalk

To photographers, the Golden Hour is the brief period before sunset (and also the brief period after sunrise). It is so-named because the light, at an acute angle to the horizon, is softer than during the day, producing softer pictures rich in golden hues.

Monarch, at the Thompson Hotel in downtown Dallas, is planning to make its own culinary interpretation of the Golden Hour with an exclusive menu in the bar and lounge areas Monday through Thursday from 5 to 6 pm. Guests can enjoy a curated menu of $12 classic cocktails such as French 75s and Palomas and new Golden Hour exclusive items by Michelin-star chef Danny Grant that include indulgent King Crab Brioche Buns with leeks and fontina, Halibut Pan Zerotti with potato and saffron aioli, and Steak Tartare with eggy mustard and housemade chips. .
