From the IRS comes the obscure name, the “B-Corp.”. It is a corporation dedicated to some social goal to do good. Fetzer Vineyards has a history of support for various causes but this change marks a new chapter in that the social goal becomes the primary goal of the corporation.

Fetzer has decided that the drinking water crisis is where they can do the most good. Specifically, of the global population of 7.8bn, 860 million do not have access to safe drinking water. To get safe water to those people Fetzer has partnered with Fill It Forward, a B-Corp advocating for refillable water bottles. On each bottle of Fetzer wine is a Fill It Forward sticker with a barcode to uniquely identify it. Place the sticker on your reusable water bottle and scan it with the Fill It Forward app. That generates a contribution to a charity project removing disposable water bottles from the sea.

The wine is easy to enjoy too. Fetzer Chardonnay 2019 (SRP $8) and Fetzer Gewürztraminer 2019 (SRP $10.) are reasonably priced and, having just drunk the chardonnay, I can attest to its value.

In wide distribution.
